2023-24 Community Grants Program - Round 2

The 2023-24 Community Grants Program has three categories.

Mayoral Community Fund

The Mayoral Community Fund category provides funding support for community groups who want to benefit residents and establish, strengthen or implement projects that align with Kempsey Shire Council’s Community Strategic Plan and can demonstrate evidence of need. Partnerships between agencies are encouraged.

For example, improvements to public spaces such as air conditioning installation, electrical fit outs, maintenance and new equipment.

$5,000 is the maximum amount of funding a group can receive from the Mayoral Community Fund.

Sporting Grants

Sporting grants provide funding to local sporting clubs who want to purchase more sporting equipment or make minor improvements to their facilities that align with the Macleay Valley Sporting Strategy

For example, purchase a barbeque for fundraising, installing seating and shading, goal keeping equipment and minor upgrades of clubhouse facilities.

$2,500 is the maximum amount of funding a group can receive from a Sporting Grant.

Quick Grants

$500 Community Quick Grants provide funding to local organisations and are aimed at celebrating specific themed events throughout the community.

NAIDOC Week Grant: Funding to hold an event aimed at engaging the community during NAIDOC week held in July each year.
